Während die Apple-Community noch über ein Special-Event am 9. September rätselt, macht Microsoft Nägel mit Köpfen: Microsoft Hardware bewirbt nun nämlich eine Ankündigung am 9. September 2008. Der Slogan der Ankündigung: «Say Goodbye to Laser» … da Microsoft Hardware jene Abteilung ist, die für die Microsoft-Mäuse und -Tastaturen verantwortlich ist, könnten damit neue Mäuse gemeint sein … ohne Laser, dafür mit einer neuen Technologie? Es kann sich aber natürlich auch um etwas ganz anderes handeln. Computerworld spekuliert:

Perhaps Microsoft is also jumping on the multi-touch bandwagon.  Glass trackpads seem to be the latest and greatest things.  Maybe Microsoft is trying to steal Apple’s thunder with a similar technology? […] It wouldn’t be the first time that Microsoft tried to steal Apple’s thunder.  Microsoft demonstrated its Surface technology ahead of the release the original iPhone…
